1) Prepare the Nail
Perform your regular nail preparation, then apply a base coat and your chosen base color. For an ombré effect, starting with a lighter shade usually makes blending easier.

Fully cure the base color, then remove the sticky (tacky) layer before using the sponge. You can wipe the nail with isopropyl alcohol or a nail cleanser/degreaser to leave the surface clean and ready for blending.

2) Pick Up the Sponge
Use the grabbing pen to securely hold one soft nail sponge.

Make sure the sponge is positioned firmly in the holder so it stays in place while you work. The grabbing pen helps provide better control and keeps your fingers clean during application.

3) Apply the Color to the Sponge
Apply a small amount of gel polish or nail art product directly onto the sponge, or place the product on a palette first and gently pick it up with the sponge.

Use only a small amount of product. Too much gel can create a heavy spot instead of a smooth gradient.

4) Remove Excess Product
Before applying the color to the nail, lightly dab the sponge on a palette or clean surface to remove any excess product.

The sponge should be lightly coated, not saturated. This will help create a softer and more even blend.

5) Create the Gradient
Begin applying the color using light tapping or dabbing motions.

Gently press the sponge onto the nail and lift it straight back up. Repeat this motion rather than dragging or rubbing the sponge across the nail.

This technique helps create a smooth, airbrushed-looking transition.

6) Build the Color Gradually
Start in the area where you want the color to be the most intense.

For example, when creating a French ombré, concentrate more color near the free edge and gradually use lighter pressure as you move toward the center of the nail.

Build the gradient slowly instead of trying to achieve full coverage in one application.

7) Apply Multiple Thin Layers
For the smoothest result, apply the color in several thin layers.

Usually, 2–4 light applications will create a more natural and seamless gradient than one heavy layer.

Cure each layer according to the instructions for the gel product you are using before applying additional color.

8) Refine the Blend
If the transition between colors still looks too noticeable, use a clean sponge or a clean section of the sponge to lightly tap over the transition area.

Use very gentle pressure to soften the line and create a smoother blend.

9) Cure the Final Design
Once you are satisfied with the gradient, fully cure the design according to the recommended curing time for your gel polish or nail art product.

Make sure the entire layer is properly cured before applying the finishing coat.

10) Finish with Top Coat
Apply your preferred top coat over the entire nail and cure according to the manufacturer's instructions.

The top coat will smooth the surface, enhance the gradient, and give the finished design a polished, professional appearance.
